Dr. Scott Putney
Dr. Scott Putney specializes in surgery of the hand and upper extremities as well as microvascular surgery. He earned his medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville. He then went on to a fellowship program in hand surgery at the Christine Kleinert Institute at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Putney and his staff treat patients with diseases and injuries to the hand and upper extremities including the elbow, forearm, wrist and hand. Dr. Putney grew up in Richmond, VA. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He is board certified in both orthopedic surgery as well as hand surgery, an additional qualification with rigorous ongoing standards to ensure that patients receive the highest quality care.
Garrett R. Schwarzman, MD
Dr. Schwarzman earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, majoring in Chemistry and History with a pre-med focus. Dr. Schwarzman completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. An accomplished athlete, Dr. Schwarzman competed in Crew at the University of Wisconsin and is a half-Ironman finisher who has twice run, and finished, the Chicago Marathon. He also enjoys traveling, biking, and working out with his wife.
Megan Newton, MMS, PA-C
Megan Newton is a Certified Physician Assistant working in orthopedic surgery. She is experienced as a surgical first assistant with expertise in performing procedures and clinical interventions, including joint aspirations and injections, suturing, wound care, splinting, and imaging interpretation. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Berry College in Mount Berry, GA, and her Master of Medical Science from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC. Newton joined UF Health St. Johnsfrom The Orthopedic Clinic in Daytona Beach, FL, where she was a physician assistant. Prior to that, she worked as a Rehabilitation Technician in the SCI/Neurologic Program for Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital in Jacksonville.
